Who is La Maison Massy?
La Maison Massy is a family-owned winery founded in the early 20th century in Epesses, in the Lavaux region. Over four generations — Albert, Jean-François, Luc and Margaret, then Gregory and Benjamin — the family has cultivated its terraced vineyards across the Epesses, Saint-Saphorin and Dézaley Grand Cru appellations.
Where is the estate located?
The estate is located in Epesses, Route de la Corniche 11, in the heart of Lavaux. This wine-growing region, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2007, stretches between Lausanne and Vevey.
What is the Clos du Boux?
The Clos du Boux is a residence built by the Bernese from 1630, listed as a historic monument, overlooking Epesses. It is the only Grand Cru clos in the municipality of Epesses and produces the Epesses Clos du Boux, considered the estate’s signature wine.
How long has La Maison Massy been producing wine?
The Massy family has been established in these vineyards since the early 20th century, when Albert Massy planted the first vines. The estate has been passed down from generation to generation for over 120 years.

What wines does La Maison Massy produce?
La Maison Massy produces around ten references: Grand Crus (Dézaley Chemin de Fer, Epesses Clos du Boux, Dézaley Chemin de Terre, Dézaley Marsens), terroir wines (St-Saphorin Sous-les-Rocs, Epesses La Crosse, Epesses Crêt-Bailli, St-Saphorin Baillival), as well as a specialty, the Epesses Sauvignon Blanc.
What is the Dézaley Chemin de Fer?
The Dézaley Chemin de Fer is La Maison Massy’s iconic Grand Cru, produced for over 100 years on the AOC Dézaley appellation. This powerful and opulent Chasselas develops notes of flint and honeyed touches, and improves with age.
Is the Epesses Sauvignon Blanc rare?
Yes. La Maison Massy has been a pioneer of Sauvignon Blanc in Lavaux since 1992, and only 1,000 bottles are produced per vintage. It was recognised by Falstaff magazine in 2026.
What is the difference between Epesses, Saint-Saphorin and Dézaley?
Dézaley is the most prestigious of the three appellations, classified as Grand Cru, with powerful, age-worthy wines. Epesses produces structured and mineral wines. Saint-Saphorin yields fresh and floral wines, perfect as an aperitif.

Wines are available directly from the online shop. Delivery is available throughout Switzerland, and it is also possible to visit the estate to purchase on site.

Visits & tastings
Can we visit the cellar and taste the wines on site?
Yes. The cellar has a sunny terrace and a tasting room in Epesses. You can contact the estate to arrange a visit with Gregory or Benjamin Massy. Visits and tastings by appointment only.
Does La Maison Massy take part in the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises?
Yes, La Maison Massy takes part every year in the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises, held each year at the end of May. It is the perfect opportunity to visit the estate and meet the family.

Why is Lavaux so renowned for its wines?
Lavaux has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2007. Its terraced vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate, combining direct sunlight and the reflection from Lake Geneva, creating ideal conditions for Chasselas.
